We offer a full range of vehicles across North America. Our rental partners include Alamo, Hertz and Thrifty.

See and ski more:
Hiring a car is a good way to make the most of your holiday to Canada or the US. In some resorts, such as Whistler, car hire is not necessary, but in others you will see and ski more if you have a car. This is particularly true in resorts where several mountains are covered by the same lift pass - eg. Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail and Beaver Creek, in the Lake Tahoe area, around Park City and around Banff.

4 Wheel drive recommended:
We always recommend that you hire a 4 wheel drive vehicle. In the mountains, the weather can change rapidly and dramatically and some roads can become impassable without 4 wheel drive. Access to some properties can be difficult without 4 wheel drive.

Don't go too small:
We also recommend that you don't scrimp on the size of the car you book. If the car booked isn't big enough for your group and its luggage when you arrive, you will be disappointed and may need to upgrade to a larger vehicle. You will pay much more to do this locally at the time than in advance.

What is included?
Our rentals include rental fees, full LDW (also called CDW) insurance, LIS insurance (US only), airport and local fees, all taxes and unlimited mileage. For rentals in California, a tourism fee that unfortunately cannot be included in your package will be charged locally. As at 01 September 2007, this fee is 2.5% of the cost of the rental.

When you pick up the vehicle, you may be offered other products which we consider to be optional such as PEI (personal effects insurance) and PAI (personal accident insurance), both of which would be covered by your general travel insurance policy. You may also be offered a fuel purchase option and possibly additional insurance top-ups to cover, for example, running out of fuel and the loss of keys. If you do decide to accept any of these optional charges you will pay for them locally.

All rentals are based on periods of 24 hours. When you book, your confirmation invoice will clearly show the number of days included and your voucher will clearly show the start and finish dates and times for your rental. If you return the vehicle after the finish time shown, you will be charged locally for an additional day.

Driving licence and credit card:
You require a full UK driving licence to hire a vehicle and will need to present it along with a valid credit card in your name when you pick up the vehicle. The licence must be the original, photocopies or faxed copies are not accepted. Please note that debit cards are not accepted.

Ski racks, child seats and additional drivers:
Ski racks and child seats can be requested at the time of booking but cannot be guaranteed. The cost of these items can be around $15 per day and this is payable locally. Additional drivers may be added locally for which there is a fee to pay of approximately $10.00 per driver per day. If you do plan to have additional drivers, it is cheaper to book an upgraded package, including additional drivers and fuel purchase option, in advance than to pay for these options locally. Each additional driver must present a full UK driving licence.

One way rentals:
These are possible between many locations and sometimes at no charge, for example between Vancouver/Calgary and San Francisco/Los Angeles. If there is an additional charge we will tell you the approximate amount when you book and the charge is payable when you pick up the vehicle. Please note that charges can change without notice so we are unable to guarantee what the final amount charged will be.

Parking charges:
Some properties and resorts do charge for parking and this can be up to $30.00 a day, payable locally.
