Tips & Advice

Restaurant recommendations:

  • If the sun is shining, you have skied all morning and now want to rest your weary legs whilst enjoying a value for money lunch experience, you have plenty of choice - Lech has an abundance of fabulous restaurants, some more pricey than others. A fantastic place to stop for lunch and thaw yourself out at is Palmen Alpe restaurant near the Zugerberg chair lift. No amount of money can buy those views!

  • Really reasonable is the restaurant Montana in Oberlech. You can't miss it, it's the one with the olympic rings (and home of Olympic Downhill Champion, Patrick Ortlieb). It has the best sun terrace and the best food (French-Austrian mix) for a great price.

Tour the mountain:

  • Definitely take one day of your holiday to ski the white circle (not such a great tip for boarders as there are quite a few flats, however it is doable). Ski over the back of Lech into Zug and then on to Zurs and back to Lech to cover 70km of terrain – you can catch the bus back to Lech or carry on and finish the circle. (Should take about 4hrs – no stops).

Off the slopes:

  • Also sometimes known as the Aspen of the Alps, Lech has fantastic shopping. One shop not to be missed is The Strolz Store where you will find top ski and non-ski equipment.
