"Newfoundland is not known as a ski destination, but Humber Valley resort provides an ideal base for a winter experience holiday that includes skiing at Marble Mountain and cat-skiing in the Blomidon Mountains as well as a host of other winter activities."

Newfoundland is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, boasting among other things – The Gros Morne National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the salmon-rich Humber River, icebergs and whale watching, as well as countless clean rivers and lakes and miles of undiscovered countryside where you are surrounded by spectacular scenery and wildlife.
The skiing in Newfoundland is found at Marble Mountain, a 10 minute drive from Humber Valley resort with its development of high end accommodation. It is only 5 1/2hrs west of London (the resort is just 20 minutes from the airport) and offers the closest skiing experience in Canada to the UK. Marble Mountain has 1700 feet of vertical drop, an average of 16 feet of snow and no lift queues. There is over 175 acres of skiable terrain and 35 groomed trails including a Terrain Park, half pipe and seven mogul runs. Marble Mountain caters for all levels of skier and snowboarder. The fact that it is still relatively unknown ensures maximum time on the slopes rather than waiting in lift queues – especially during the week.
A ski holiday to Humber Valley and Marble Mountain is a true winter experience, with a whole host of non-ski activities also on offer – snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, curling, sleigh rides and tobogganing – all to be enjoyed amid pretty scenery.
