Skiing holidays to
Tremblant Canada

Expert Opinion

"I really like Tremblant as it is so easy to get to. It has a distinctly French feel but with the Canadian level of service. Don’t miss the Scandinave Spa near the resort with its hot & cold pools and the chance to jump into a half frozen river. Tremblant is also perfect for a combined break with Montreal for great shopping in the underground malls."

Tips & Advice

On the slopes:
  • Make use of the free mountain hosting to get yourself orientated on the first day. They meet each day at 10.30 am at the top of the Telecabine Express, at the large piste map as you come off the gondola.

  • On-mountain stop recommendation - Le Refuge off the right of Le Soleil chair is a great little place to stop with a real cosy cabin feel.  Good for a mid-afternoon snack.
General:
  • Visit the Sugar Shack by the Cabriolet Village gondola for local maple products and to sample frozen maple syrup on a stick!  It is quite commercial so for a more authentic sugar shack experience there is La Cabane A Sucre, just a 15 minute drive from Tremblant -  http://www.tremblant-sugar-shack.com/anglais.html

  • It does get cold in Tremblant particularly in Dec, Jan & early Feb so we recommend that you prepare for the cold - face masks will make skiing a lot more enjoyable!  There are plenty of places to buy extra layers in resort.
Dining:
  • There's a great traditional little boulangerie on the Rue de Rempart - La Chouquetterie, which is great for breakfasts - eat in and take out.  Really fantastic pastries, bagels and baguettes at reasonable prices.

  • For an authentic Québecoise dining experience, head into Tremblant Village, a 10 minute drive away, and go to one of the Auberges there.  We can recommend La Petite Cachée - www.petitecachee.com - the steak is particularly good.

  • Dining at Tremblant Mountain Village - on fridays and saturdays there is a Surf, Turf & Sushi buffet at the Windigo restaurant at the Fairmont hotel which we can highly recommend - $49 pp for as much as you can eat and this includes lobster, oysters, alaskan king crab, prawns, scallops, sushi and more, plus the most delicious roast meats.  Also includes a dessert buffet - our mouths are watering as we write!  Allow 4hrs!  We recommend booking - (819) 681 7685.

  • If you'd like to eat in one night, all restaurants at Tremblant Mountain Village offer take aways - we can recommend the ribs and french fries from the Bullseye Bar & Steak House by the Village Square - (819) 681-2855 www.bullseyetremblant.com.  This is also a great place for lunches and the portions are enormous.
Non-ski activities:
  •  An absolute must on a trip to Tremblant is to visit Le Scandinave Spa, a 10 minute drive away from Tremblant - saunas, steam rooms, hot and cold pools and for those brave enough, a dip in the river.  Massages and other spa treatments are also available. $43 pp for the baths, $112 to include a massage.  We suggest going in the early evening, 5pm ish - you'll find about 2hrs in the baths is enough and then you can chill out afterwards in the upstairs cafe - you might catch a glimpse of wild deers.  Contact  www.scandinave.com or call 001 819 425 5524 to book.  The concierges at your accommodation will be able to book for you and organize transportation if you don't have your own car.
