"If you like the idea of a Ski Safari but want to go to Whistler as well, then this is a great itinerary. Also, if you are looking for a Ski Safari that can be done using transfers, rather than driving, then this is one of the options."

"Hi! Just returned from a ski safari that included Whistler, Tofino & Vancouver. Stayed in the Summit Lodge, Whistler. Excellent accommodation, just outside the busy area but within easy walk of the nightlife. It also had the requisite hot tub to relax sore muscles. As expected excellent skiing conditions, although a bit slushy at the bottom. Took the locals tip and “downloaded” from mid station. This is then an easy walk to the Longhorn bar.... Drive to Tofino (Vancouver Island) was exciting as we hit a heavy snowfall crossing the pass on Vancouver Island ;-). Stayed in the Tin Wis (Best Western) which was very comfortable, right on the beach and had the requisite hot tub. Definitely recommend it. Main objective was whale watching. 1st day we were unlucky (no whales) but the hot springs were something else! Don’t forget your cossie. Second day we took a zodiac and managed to find some grey whales. Although Tofino is small, there are some excellent restaurants. If you go there, you must try the Raincoast Cafe and Schooner Restaurant. Trip back to Vancouver included another snowfall on the pass, but it all adds to the excitement. Stayed in the Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver – fantastic accommodation overlooking the waterfront. Explored Stanley Park (short walk) and Granville Island. Only problem (not Ski Safari’s fault) was the BA return flight which was delayed by over 5 hours, i.e. a 03:00 departure. Main advice would be to register your mobile with BA website as they will txt you any delays or flight changes. This meant we slipped our transfer to the airport. As most shops and restaurants close at 10:00 in Vancouver airport, it is worth paying $30 to use the Plaza Premium Departures Lounge. Stays open to 02:00 and includes free drinks and snacks. "
