Expert Opinion

"If you like the idea of a Ski Safari but want to go to Whistler as well, then this is a great itinerary. Also, if you are looking for a Ski Safari that can be done using transfers, rather than driving, then this is one of the options."

Resorts & Cities:

Driving Times:

Whistler Vancouver Airport - Whistler 21/2 hrs
Sun Peaks Whistler - Sun Peaks 4-5 hrs
 Vancouver
Sun Peaks - Vancouver Airport 6 hrs
Sun Peaks - Kelowna Airport  45 mins

Sun Peaks has seen real development in the last year or two and has earned the nickname 'little Whistler' - the village certainly has a similar flavour. The excellent new accommodation in Sun Peaks - in particular the Delta Sun Peaks Resort - means that you can stay in very high quality accommodation, not often found outside Whistler, for the whole of your stay.

Whistler and Sun Peaks are linked by a spectacular journey along Duffey Lake Road. If you are driving the journey can be done in around 4 - 5 hours, but it is worth taking it leisurely and spending the day stopping off when you feel like it to admire the views along the way. However, there is a shuttle between the two resorts - it runs in both directions on sundays, tuesdays and fridays. From Sun Peaks it is about a 6 hour drive back to Vancouver, although if you use transfers to get between Whistler and Sun Peaks you can fly from Kamloops to Vancouver or vice versa. We recommend a minimum of 5 nights in each resort plus a night or two in Vancouver.

Special Offer:

Free Transfer to Whistler - stay a minimum of 7 nights in Sun Peaks (in either the Delta Sun Peaks or the Bear Lodge) and receive a free transfer between Whistler and Sun Peaks, either direction, one way. Participating properties only, max 2 adults per booking/accommodation unit.
