Skiing holidays to
Portillo Chile

Expert Opinion

"Staying at Hotel Portillo is a real experience combining old world charm, lively nightlife and a stunning location. It's a small resort for a 7 night stay (often the minimum), but have a pisco sour and go with the flow!"

"Visited in September 2005 at the end of the season in roasting weather, stayed Gran hotel which was luxurious, excellent heated outdoor pool, good food, very comfortable and convenient for slopes, as well as being in a very romantic setting in the woods. If you ski well then 7 days is sufficient because the number of runs is limited but the scenery makes up for it. One of the long chair lifts must be the slowest in the world but when it's sunny it's worth the trip! It's different to European resorts in that the skiing is limited and the scenery is different, but spectacular. The resort is well worth the visit if you're skiing in Chile. I would recommend that you spend 7 days here and 7 days in Valle Nevado.. and another 7 in Portillo if you have the time... "
