Skiing holidays to
Breckenridge USA

Expert Opinion

“After working here for 3 winters, it has to be said Breckenridge is one of my favourite resorts in Colorado! This is because it's kept the traditional mining town look of the old west. Breckenridge is a fantastic family friendly resort with an excellent ski school. There are plenty of great restaurants in town which are really affordable for families. Another plus for Breckenridge it has a big City Market (food supermarket) making this even easier for people staying in condos. It also offers the best base to explore all the other resorts in the area with Vail, Beaver Creek and Keystone within 45 min drive and included on the lift pass”

Breckenridge is one of the UK's favourite US resorts. A traditional old mining town, high altitude and snow sure, plus an easy 2 and a half hour transfer from Denver airport.

The type of skiing varies between the different peaks - Peak 7 and 8 are mainly for advanced skiers, whereas Peaks 9 and 10 have more beginner and intermediate terrain. The combination of good skiing and a town that caters for every taste and pocket, means that there is genuinely something for everyone in Breckenridge.

The accommodation is concentrated in three areas - in town around Main Street, around the base of Peak 9 and along the Four O' Clock Run. The main ski-in ski-out resort hotels are located at the base of Peak 9, good value-for-money condos on the Four O' Clock Run and the cheaper hotels and townhouses on Main Street.

A new gondola, completed in 2006, has linked Main Street with Peak 7 and 8 and began a programme of continued investments in the resort. Breckenridge is going to get even better!

There are about 80 restaurants & bars which get quite lively in the evening, but for the non skiers there is 180 shops to peruse . Breckenridge is a great introduction to North American skiing.
