Skiing holidays to
Zermatt Switzerland

Expert Opinion

"Zermatt features in the top 10 world class ski resorts for good reason - excellent skiing for all levels, a picturesque car free resort and plenty of night life. The iconic Matterhorn as a backdrop is the icing on the cake."

Zermatt lies high up in canton Wallis on the border of Switzerland and Italy (the ski area allows you to ski down to Cervina on the Italian side). Zermatt is a resort that everyone knows a little bit about. Most people know that it is overlooked by the famous Matterhorn, that it has an impressive ski area and that it has a picturesque village core.

However, did you know that it is now quicker to get to Zermatt from Zurich than it is from Geneva thanks to the Lotschberg tunnel? Or that the resort is surrounded by 38 peaks that are higher than 4000m? Or that you can ski all year round on the glacier? Or that the resort is a car free zone?

Zermatt is also linked to the resorts of Davos/Klosters and St Moritz by the iconic Glacier Express train that takes you over the Alps in a panoramic carriage. What better way to enjoy the ultimate Swiss Ski Safari!
